Practical winter tools
Prepare for wet boots, icy mornings and the jobs that winter brings.
What to compare
- Choose by the task: removing ice, brushing snow, drying footwear or checking indoor conditions. Measure the space and reach before buying.
- For a scraper or snow brush, compare handle length, grip with gloves, storage size and the surfaces the manufacturer says it is suitable for.
- For a boot dryer, check permitted footwear materials, boot height, the drying method, power and any timer. Follow footwear care labels as well as the dryer instructions.
- For draught-sealing supplies, measure the gap and check the door or window type. Confirm that the material and fixing method suit the surface.
- For an indoor temperature and humidity monitor, check the stated measurement range, accuracy and sensor placement guidance. It is an environmental tool.
- After use, dry, clean and store tools as their instructions specify. Replace damaged parts before the next job.
