Winter warmth
Hands, feet and cosy spaces. Compare warmth, power and everyday practicality.
What to compare
- Start with the setting: sitting at a desk, walking to work and doing outdoor tasks have different needs. Choose whether portability, freedom of movement or a fixed place matters most.
- Compare usable dimensions, weight and how easily you can reach the controls. For gloves and wearable products, check the size chart and the space needed for any battery.
- Compare the stated power supply, voltage and plug type. USB power, a rechargeable battery and mains electricity are different arrangements; check what is included.
- Read the conditions behind runtime claims: heating level, ambient temperature and battery size. A maximum figure does not describe every setting.
- Check care instructions, removable covers and storage. Choose products intended for the setting in which you will actually use them.
- Use the product as directed. Read any manufacturer warnings about heat, moisture, folding or unattended use. A shopping guide cannot establish that a product is suitable for a medical condition.
